Definitely the best book I've ever read on dog origins and behaviour by Ray Coppinger. Ray has a unique view on his subject matter gained from many years of research with a wide range of dog breeds.

here that after all the info on socializing maremmas and my stand
on raising pups, I wanted to show how social with the family my
maremmas are as adults. Primary bond to livestock, but part of the
family also. I also wanted to note the size of Nero's head beside
mine...
