my name is Barissa and I am with my owner Colin and we live in Qld.
I was there first and I am spoilt by Mum and Dad. We live on our property
with goats and chickens....I am known to be retired now from living
with the goats as the young dogs are with them and I live in the house
and houseyard and look after Mum and Dad and of course I babysit the
baby goats that we have to bottle feed. Unfortunately, Mum could not
stop at one Maremma, she was totaly taken by our breed and had to
get more. We are a family of 6 Maremma's now.
My name is Hurricane and of course I am the male on the property......I
have been retired from the paddock but recently I have been back
in the paddock helping and looking after the new does from the last
drop.....I love being back in the paddock but I do miss Mum and
Dad....I am now able to rome as well between all the paddocks on
the outside and I watch and assist the young bitches if needed.....The
minute my bitches come into action I am there if they need me.....
my name is Marchesa, and I loved the goats from the day I was put
in the paddock at 7 weeks. Mum and Dad used to walk me in the paddock
on my choker until one day when I was free to walk with the goats
alone. I took to them like anything...I started sleeping with them
and then I started to learn why I was here....My daughter Piccachew
from my last litter is now working with her own goats and I must admit
she is better than myself and her father...Unfortunately we lost her
father to a snake bite....
what can I say I am the little one of all of the others, but I was
the runt of the litter and Mum could not refuse but to take me....When
we lost two of our working dogs to snake bite, I became the oldest
rather quickly which was working in the paddock and I soon assumed
that role and I took it upon myself to impress Mum and Dad....I guard
the main does and their little ones and Mum and Dad can rotate me
to any paddock and any goats and I soon adjust to it all. I know Mum
and Dad have put alot of responsbility on me but I can handle it...Being
the littliest one I am still a Maremma and a top working bitch if
I do say so myself.
